All depends on who your target market is. If its yourself, then having
dependencies is fine. However if you want others, end users, to use your library
you need to make it as simple to use as possible - that includes minimising the
number of dependencies. You have two choices, bring the complexity inhouse or
expose it to your users. For the sake of two copy methods that are very standard
java I would rather keep complexity inhouse away from the user - there are many
people who feel strongly about this. If we are not vigilant before we know it we
have half of the commons as dependencies for just a few methods in each.
