[jira] Created: (IO-154) Throw IllegalArgumentException when parameters are null (and explicitly checked)

JIRA jira@apache.org
Throw IllegalArgumentException when parameters are null (and explicitly checked)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: IO-154
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IO-154
             Project: Commons IO
          Issue Type: Improvement
    Affects Versions: 1.4
            Reporter: Niall Pemberton
            Priority: Minor
             Fix For: AFTER-1.4

IO is currently inconsistent with it explicitly throwing either a NullPointerException or IllegalArgumentException when a methods arguments are null - see discussion on IO-77. Review and change IO to only explcitly throw IllegalArgumentException in this scenario.
